Big Beyond Uganda Volunteer Projects
Big Beyond Uganda volunteers live and work next to the vibrant African jungle of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which is in the far southwest corner of Uganda close to Rwanda and DRC. It’s home to around half of the world’s population of mountain gorillas.
Our volunteers will discover that there’s a lack of community involvement in the management of the park and not yet enough awareness around conservation and sustainable resource management. Therefore, Big Beyond Uganda volunteers will help the people of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park look beyond today for a better quality of life and contribute to the conservation of mountain gorillas and their habitat. They will also be involved in community empowerment activities, such as education, health promotion and conservation depending on their area of interest and expertise.
Known as the ‘Pearl of Africa’, Big Beyond Uganda volunteers will discover it has all of the stunning diversity Africa has to offer, in just one destination. Volunteer with us in Uganda and have the unique opportunity to meet the endangered mountain gorillas, as well as chimpanzees, lions, hippos, elephants and lots more incredible African wildlife. You can easily explore its lush green rainforests, open savannah, dramatic snow capped mountains, great lakes, volcanoes and the source of the Nile.
